I wanted people to experience what it's like being a fish in the ocean today. This approach brings up plastic pollution in a way that breaks the constant news-induced apathy towards it. The first step was, naturally, deciding an identity tone for it.

Ambiguous Branding
If you want to introduce a 'radical' idea, then its better to ease people into it rather than shove it in their faces. That's why I used simple phrases like 'Experience the ocean!' instead of mentioning pollution directly. This immediately drew people towards my exhibition, excited and curious to see the ocean.

Engaging the senses
I had to make sure that this exhibition was enticing and impressionable. I projected sea videos on the walls and the exhibit and also designed a sound track to mirror the highs and lows of the ocean.

Storytelling
After getting people's attention, I drew it to simple, one-line stories. These stories belonged to each piece of plastic in the exhibition, some humorous and some horrific.

Solution
Instead of simply fear-mongering, I saw opportunity to push for change and help people adopt some solutions. Everyone got to take away a small pamphlet with information on plastics, recycling, common myths etc.
